This Sunday Trent spoke on the story of Noah. He focused on the fact that Noah was following God's commands even though he did not really understand what God was asking him to do. He did not really know what this flood would be like. Not only did he not fully understand what was going to happen, he also faced persecution. He was not only made fun of and mocked, he was likely facing physical persecution for what he was doing. The people of that time were very violent and likely attacked him for what he was doing. Not only that, he was doing this for a very long time. In our lives we need to persevere when we are facing troubles like Noah faced when building the ark. We need to remain faithful to God even when our friends and family are not remaining faithful. In times of testing, we can continue to serve God rather than turn away to avoid the difficulties that come with living in the world.-Jason
