Job: L&C Coins, School: Cal State Fullerton
Short Testimony:
I grew up in a Christian home and I have attended 1BL almost my entire life. I left the church for 2 years right out of high school to do some "soul searching" and my path led right back here. I've been back at the church for 2 years and I've been extremely involved in several ministries since including Middle School, College, and Music and Arts. My relationship with God continues to grow and mature as I do. I've learned a lot since I graduated from high school almost 4 years ago, especially while being back at the church over the last 2 years. I've been blessed with wonderful friends and family and a relationship with the Lord and I look foward to growing more in Him.

Day Job:
I work with coins...how weird and random is that? You wouldn't believe how much money people spend on silly coins.
Why do you serve in MSM?
I serve in the middle school ministry because I know a lot of important things happened to and changed for me when I was in middle school. I had a great MSM leader who taught me so much and the staff was amazing too. I feel like Middle School was where I started to grow and create my own relationship with Christ and with my Christian family and I feel like my life could've gone a different direction if I hadn't had the great leadership I was blessed with. I hope to be able to provide these students with the same kind of help and leadership as they grow and as I continue to grow as well.
When I was a kid I wanted to...
I wanted to be a singer. That's what I've always wanted to do. I used to dream of being super famous and selling millions and millions of CD's and writing my own songs and going on tour. My ultimate dream has always been to be a singer.
How I came to know Jesus:
I grew up in a Christian home so I became a Christian at a very young age. I think I was around 5 when I asked Jesus to come into my heart. I have done it again since then. When I was in 6th grade I went to church camp for the first time and every year I was always really moved by what God had been doing in my life and in the lives of my friends, so I rededicated my life as well at that time because I feel like I understood it a little better when I got older. I asked Him into my life at an early age, but I think I began to try to make Him Lord of my life a little later in life, during my teenage years.
Most Famous person you've ever met?
Nathan Fillion - He was in Firefly and Serenity. He was also in Dr. Horrible and he's in a show called Castle right now.
Why do you go to church?
I go to church to be able to spend time with my Christian brothers and sisters and God. Being rooted in a place of God around people of God is very important for Christians. I come to church to spend time with them as well as spend time in God's word and study it with others as well.
Nicknames:
I don't really have any nicknames, no one has ever given me one :( KT, Kate
Why work with Middle School Students?
I loved my middle school years at church. I was had a really great and really fun staff that were always there for me if I needed them and I wanted to be part of that for middle school students now. I want them to have a great experience like I did, and it's a time when students are starting to build their own ideas and beliefs and I want to be a part of that.
What was your first word as a baby?
I don't know, but I have a pretty funny story about the words "juice" and "yogurt" so if you're reading this you should ask me about it at church
What is your life verse?
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
I used to get scared and anxious and nervous a lot and I was especially afraid of the dark. One night my mom came into my room because I was crying and told me to read Phil. 4:6 and memorize it so whenever I got scared or nervous I could remember it and it would bring me peace. Years later, I added verse 7 because I think it's also a really good reminder to have as well. This is my favorite passage in the Bible.
The coolest place on the planet you've ever been?
Hume Lake. It is my all time FAVORITE place EVER! That might sound lame, but I find it really really amazing and it's such a good reminder of God's amazing creation. I love going there and every time I do, I can just look around and it reminds me of how truly amazing God is.
What's you're most embarrassing moment?
This is tough one. I'm trying to think of one, but I'm not really sure. I wish I could think of something really good and interesting and I really can't right now. I'll be sure to update this if I do think of one.
What's currently you're favorite attribute of God?
I think my favorite attribute of God right now is patience. I am definitely in need of God's patience right now. I have been distracted lately with things like work and school and I feel like I should be trying harder then I am to get into God's word and I am really thankful for His patience while I'll rearrange my priorities a little bit.
